About

Welcome to my blog!  I am half Italian and grew up in a household where fresh, seasonal food was a priority. My Mom emphasized finishing nearly every dish with a grazing of course, cracked, black pepper.  As she has passed on many of her recipes to her family, I hope to do the same one day to anyone who enjoys food.  A blog seemed like the most sensible way to document and archive the many recipes I have been privileged to enjoy throughout my life and the new recipes, experiments, and catastrophes that will surely come my way during the hours spent in the kitchen.

Over the years, I’ve found that my best recipes often result from mistakes or failures.  The cracked peppercorn is a symbol of my imperfect and crackled journey.  Cooking can be trying and disappointing, but when you get it right there is nothing more rewarding.  I hope you enjoy reading and munching and if you are not a family member or good friend, I sincerely thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this.
